I think AdBlock is a great thing, because it points out the shortcomings of that practice as a business model. Unfortunately Adblock Plus is also much slower than uBlock Origin, more CPU and memory intensive and tends to not be able to deal well with pop-ups, that's why I'm not using it myself. That’s why we make AdBlock available as “honorware": Pay what you can, when you can. Its probably enough, but its not quite the same as publishing the source with all the work in progress and ability to create pull requests, view history, and so on. We believe that people who love AdBlock will pay a fair price for it.
